Most people know the phrase “employee at will” and that, in most states, you can be terminated for any reason or no reason at all. Fortunately, for federal government employees, there is a mechanism to fight adverse employment actions against them and unwarranted termination of employment.
The Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) is an independent quasi-judicial agency established in 1979 to protect federal merit systems employees against partisan political and other prohibited personnel practices and to ensure adequate protection for federal employees against abuses by agency management.
I have handled these types of cases for many years. Many times, MSPB termination issues arise from the revocation of an existing security clearance. I handle every type of clearance issue and concern as well and can also fight a termination appeal under the MSPB at the same time. Of course, some of these cases arise simply from of a disagreement with management or fellow employees and, before someone knows what happened, they are facing an adverse action or even a termination of his or her government employment.
