Submitted by the Bond & Botes Law Offices - Tuesday, February 20, 2018
Thank you for your interest, but the offices of Bond & Botes, P.C. are no longer accepting applications for the 2018 Financial Hardship Scholarship at this time.
Did you know that the average student loan debt amount is over $37,000? To cover this increasingly expensive amount, you’ll will likely need some sort of financial aid.
Each year, many new graduates leave college excited to begin their journey in the workforce or to continue their education at the Master’s level. Too often, though, these young people begin their working lives saddled with suffocating amounts of education debt. Some graduates even leave college with more debt than the national average.
The attorneys at Bond & Botes, PC — lawyers who provide financial solutions to clients in Alabama and Mississippi — see the lasting consequences when people take on too much debt. The situation can be especially tragic when young people become trapped by high amounts of debt and are unable to cover educational expenses because of a tight and increasingly competitive job market.
To help students avoid the hardship that accompanies taking on excessive education debt, our attorneys have established a scholarship for a local high school senior.
Eligibility and Application Requirements
The $2,000 Financial Hardship Scholarship is available to high school seniors in Alabama and Mississippi. Applicants must be entering college in the Fall of 2018. Applicants should have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
Applicants are asked to submit a short essay describing how they have overcome financial hardships and what they have done to help others overcome hardships. Bond & Botes is in the business of helping others, and we want to reward those who do the same.
The application deadline is July 1, 2018 and a copy of an acceptance letter from an accredited U.S. undergraduate school must accompany the application. The scholarship will be made directly to the student’s school to be applied towards tuition.
