This episode of the Next Lawyer Up podcast features attorney Steven N. Peskind
This podcast, as you'll hear, is very personal to me. Steve Peskind is a great lawyer with many accolades. He practices throughout Illinois and his office is located in the far western suburbs of Chicago in the Fox River area.
I initially met Steve when he was a young lawyer first practicing in Aurora. He then moved to Batavia, Geneva and now, finally, in St. Charles, Illinois. I was fortunate that Steve first hired me as a law clerk after my first year of law school. I then spent the next several years with him through law school graduation until I entered active duty with the United States Army to fulfill my military obligation.
At the time that I met Steve, he practiced with his father, David Peskind. It is not an understatement to say that David Peskind was a legendary lawyer in that part of Illinois, with his reputation reaching all the way to Chicago. Whenever I told someone that I worked for the Peskind Law Firm, it was immediately met with respect. I learned a great deal from both David and Steve Peskind and I am, and have been, eternally grateful for what they taught me, both about life and the practice of law. I carry many of these lessons with me through the present day.
I recently spent a week in Chicago visiting all of the places where my family and I grew up. This trip also included two separate trips to Wrigley Field. Go Cubs Go! My father passed away recently and I planned this trip for what I thought would be a cathartic and memorial type visit. As it turned out, it was much more than that. I haven't spent that kind of time in Chicago and both the Northwest and Far West suburbs for at least 25 years. It was capped off by this discussion with Steve Peskind. Knowing his dad and how Steve's career turned out, it is clear that the apple didn't fall far from the tree. I hope you enjoy it.
