This podcast features attorney Derek Simpson. Derek, along with his law partner, Barton Warren, are both considered top plaintiff's attorneys in the state of Alabama.
Together, they make a very formidable team. Besides that, both of them are just good guys - compassionate, respectful and easy-going. Derek also gives a lot back to our community through the Madison County Volunteer Lawyers Program and through the Huntsville-Madison County Bar Association where he is the incoming bar president. Derek literally grew up in the law under the tutelage and guidance of his father, Fred Simpson.
Derek and Barton now occupy a very historic office on the courthouse square first purchased by Fred. They do so much trial work that they even have a mock courtroom in their basement where they prepare for their upcoming cases that do go to trial. Derek also works as a sports agent and we will talk a little bit about that during the podcast. I cannot imagine any athlete that would be in better hands than having Derek as an agent. He has the drive and ability to steer his athlete clients to the best contracts that they deserve. This is the same care, meticulous attention, concern and focus that all of Derek and Barton's clients receive. Beside all of that, it was just good to sit down with Derek and catch up with him. I am happy that I can consider him a close friend.
