Last week, I had the honor of attending my friend Lori Rasmussen’s change of command ceremony at Maxwell Air Force Base here in Montgomery. While commander, Lt. Col. Rasmussen was in charge of Detachment 12 of the Academy of Military Science Officer Training School. This detachment is one of the Air Force’s preeminent officer commissioning squadrons and annually produces over 800 new officers for the regular Air Force, the Air National Guard and the Air Force Reserve.
The ceremony included the graduation of hundreds of men and women who have gone through additional training to further serve in our military. It was humbling to watch along with their family and friends who sacrifice so much while they serve our country.
As we approach Veteran’s Day on November 11th, let’s remember those who touch each of our lives by their service. With two Air Force Bases located in my adopted hometown of Montgomery, I have had the privilege of meeting lifelong friends who serve.
Below are a few pictures from the ceremony. Let’s start a trend of #BondandBotesThankfulforMilitary with the name of someone you want to honor this Veteran’s Day.
