As corny as it may sound, I like to think of the folks I work with as family. Many of the attorneys and staff members at Bond & Botes have been with us for a long time. We have shared good times and bad. There have been weddings, children born, graduations, birthdays and so much more. Not everybody can say that they enjoy what they do for a living and the people that they do it with. I know that I am fortunate to be able to say both and thank God daily for his blessings.
My partner Gail Donaldson has been with our firm for almost 25 years. As I described in a post to this blog several years back; she has a remarkable story in that she started with us as a receptionist, became office manager, completed law school and eventually became the managing attorney of our office in Montgomery, Alabama. Gail is a wonderful person and friend so I was very alarmed when I learned that the home of her Mom, Linda Hughes, had been severally damaged in a house fire on September 24, 2016. Thankfully, Ms. Hughes was unharmed but all of her personal belongings were destroyed. She will need new furniture, appliances, clothing and - well, everything.
Linda Hughes is a proud Mother and Grandmother with three children (Gail, Samantha and Hank), four grandchildren and many friends. She graduated from Houston County High School and has been employed by Muller Communications in Dothan, Alabama for many years. Importantly, a family member shared that she is a proud but humble person who rarely asks for any kind of help. Well Ms. Hughes now needs help.
If you can, please help Gail's Mom by going to this GoFundMe Page that has been set up for her benefit and making a donation. No gift is too big or too small.
Thank you.
